Italian Phones Add a Digit

Having trouble calling Italy? Although the Italian phone system has long been known for being frustrating, your problem may be of later vintage: a recent change in telephone numbers that requires adding a zero after the country code (39) and before the city code. For instance, to call Rome, which used to begin 011-39-6 (followed by the local number), you now must dial 011-39-06.
