7:30 TONIGHT MISSION VIEJO HIGH
With Brandon Heaney (stress fracture) out, Trabuco Hills’ Chris Cordova made his debut as a varsity quarterback last week in 24-7 victory over Dana Hills. He struggled (three interceptions, one fumble) and 17 of his team’s points came on a returned punt, a fake field goal and a field goal. Trabuco Hills’ defense has given up three touchdowns in three weeks, and last week’s came after a fumble at the two. Mission Viejo’s fortunes hinge on not giving up a big play on defense or special teams. Quarterback John Hudgins (18.4 yards per completion) has been excellent the last two weeks.
