St. Bonaventure Romps, 35-14

Jesse Kirk rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns in 20 carries to help St. Bonaventure High to a 35-14 victory over Bishop Diego on Thursday in a Tri-Valley League game at Ventura High.
Kirk scored on runs of 12 and three yards.
Chris Lombardo kept Bishop Diego (1-6, 0-2 in league play) off-balance by completing 17 of 26 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Lombardo threw a nine-yard scoring pass to Matt Leeth with 2:23 remaining in the first half to give St. Bonaventure a 21-7 lead.
The Seraphs (4-3, 2-0) took a 28-7 lead early in the third quarter when Lombardo found Adam Gray-Hayward on a two-yard touchdown pass.
That ended a three-play, 14-yard scoring drive that took only 15 seconds after Bebop Lopez blocked Ian Richardson’s punt.
Lombardo, who kicked three extra points and passed for a two-point conversion to Leeth, opened the scoring midway through the first quarter on a one-yard run. The run capped a 14-play, 73-yard drive on St. Bonaventure’s first possession.
Gordo Pinedo of St. Bonaventure had five catches for 58 yards. Gray-Hayward had four receptions for 45 yards.
St. Bonaventure, aiming for its third consecutive league title, rolled up 320 yards and limited the Cardinals to 182.
Richardson completed 10 of 28 passes for 94 yards and had a pass intercepted. Leo Rojas rushed 12 times for 52 yards.
