A 17-year-old from Santa Ana was shot in the chest and a 13-year-old from Tustin was shot in the face and leg Saturday during a fight with a group of other youths in Santa Ana.
Police said the teens were walking along Orange Avenue about 10:30 a.m. when half a dozen youths riding in an Oldsmobile Cutlass got out of the car and began throwing punches. Eventually, shots were fired.
Both male victims are in stable condition at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
Police know few details about the incident, except that the younger victim was on his way to see his father, who lives in Santa Ana.
