Big Waves: Pepperdine middle blocker Jamie Hill was selected the Wyoming tournament most valuable player last weekend.

Hill, a 6-foot-4 junior, collected 57 kills and 14 blocks in three matches for the Waves, who went 2-1.

Pepperdine freshman setter Melissa Plass, who had 166 assists, 20 kills and eight blocks, was selected to the all-tournament team.

BASKETBALL

Registration: The American Roundball Corp. is holding registration for its instructional basketball academy for children in grades 1-8 on Saturday at North Hollywood High (9 a.m.), Olive Recreation Center in Burbank (11 a.m.) and Pierce College (1 p.m.).
