Canoga Park 14, Birmingham 13--Quarterback Mike Spangle shook off two first-half interceptions and threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Victor Torres to give the Hunters a come-from-behind victory.
Spangle finished the game with 169 yards passing, completing 12 of 22 attempts. He did not throw an interception in the second half. Ramon Torres rushed for 69 yards in 11 carries.
The Patriots were led by running back Howard Jones, who had 143 yards in 21 carries.
Birmingham scored the first 13 points of the game. John Wall booted field goals of 44 yards in the first quarter and 27 in the third quarter. The Patriots took a 10-0 lead in the second quarter when Max Parra hit Donny Hamilton with a 14-yard pass after a fake punt conversion on fourth down.
