Wilson 36, Poly 8--Harold Berreondo threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to John Shedden late in the second quarter and took an 8-7 lead on Berreondo’s conversion pass to Rudy Rodriquez, but the Parrots (0-2) never scored again.
Wilson (1-1) scored 29 answered points and took the lead for good on Dustin Quan’s 11-yard touchdown run with less than two minutes remaining in the second quarter.
Poly running back Steve Smith, who rushed for over 100 yards in Poly’s season opener, was held to 49 yards in 14 carries.
Berreondo completed three of 11 passes for 115 yards with one interception.
One highlight for the Parrots was their defensive secondary, which intercepted three passes. Alex Vallejo, Zachery Jones and Rodriquez each had an interception.
