San Fernando 28, University 22--Major Caldwell rushed for 200 yards in 26 carries and scored on runs of four, four and five yards for the Tigers (2-0) at San Fernando.
Caldwell rushed for 138 yards in the first half and the Tigers built a 20-0 halftime lead.
Leading, 20-14, late in the third quarter, Caldwell rushed for 59 yards on a six-minute, 51-second scoring drive. He capped the drive with a five-yard touchdown run to give San Fernando a 28-14 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Larry Brown scored on a 29-yard run in the second quarter, but had to leave the game after injuring his left ankle on the scoring play.
University (0-2) drove to its 45 in the final two minutes, but turned the ball over on downs.
