Moorpark 48, Santa Paula 0--Moorpark humiliated its former Frontier League rival thanks in part to five rushing touchdowns, including two apiece from Art Garcia and Art Lopez, and a defense that limited Santa Paula to 19 yards rushing and intercepted five passes.
Garcia rushed for touchdowns of 40 and five yards and had 80 yards rushing in eight carries. Lopez had touchdown runs of two and nine yards and finished with 57 yards in 11 carries.
Moorpark quarterback Mark Gressman threw for touchdowns covering 28 and 17 yards to Chris Vizzi and Scott Rollins, respectively.
Justin Moreno returned one of the interceptions Moorpark made 75 yards to set up a score.
For Santa Paula, quarterback Aaron Rabago completed 10 of 16 passes for 136 yards in relief. But three of his passes were intercepted.
