Moorpark Tops Golden West Again

Defending state wrestling champion Moorpark pulled out its second close victory over Golden West in five days, 25-21, in a nonconference match at Golden West on Wednesday.
The Raiders defeated the Rustlers on Saturday, 23-22, in a semifinal match at the San Bernardino Valley Duals.
Armando Torres pinned Froilan Gonzales in 4:11 at 133 pounds and Craig Baldwin pinned Phillip Walker in 2:12 at 141 pounds for Moorpark (5-0).
Defending state champion Chuck Sandlin defeated Eric Padilla, 17-8, at 184 pounds for Moorpark, which also received a victory at 157 pounds from 1997 state finalist Scott Erickson, 12-3, over David Pierce.
Golden West is 3-2.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Cal Lutheran 2, Whittier 0--Alia Khan and Lisa McCreary scored first-half goals for the Regals (5-1, 3-0) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Cal Lutheran.
MEN’S SOCCER
Moorpark 1, Harbor 0--Jorge Rodriguez scored on a second-half breakaway to give the Raiders a nonconference victory at Harbor.
