Sanford Has Four Goals as Ventura Rolls

Chrissy Sanford, a graduate of Newbury Park High, scored four goals for Ventura College in a 7-0 victory over Oxnard in a Western State Conference women’s soccer game at Ventura on Friday.
Sanford, who has 17 goals, converted twice in each half.
Cori Russell, Lacy Hanna and Barbara Almaraz also scored for Ventura (7-0-2, 5-0).
Pepperdine 2, Illinois State 0--Claire Wells and Katie Desmond scored and the Waves stopped Illinois State’s five-game winning streak at Pepperdine.
Sumon Nicole and Cheri Phillips combined for the shutout for Pepperdine (4-3-1).
Loyola Marymount 1, CS Northridge 0--Kerri Tanksley scored 12 seconds before halftime and goalie Tracy Sharp made it stand at Loyola Marymount.
Northridge (2-6) was outshot, 8-3, by Loyola Marymount (5-0-2).
MEN’S SOCCER
Cal Lutheran 2, Concordia 0--Cu-Hallan McGivern and Oskar Kantoft scored for the Kingsmen at Concordia (1-7-1).
Matthew Mahler had four saves for the Kingsmen (3-3), who have won three consecutive games.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
San Diego d. CS Northridge, 15-0, 13-15, 15-4, 15-10--The Matadors (5-4) could not overcome a dismal first game and struggled in a nonconference match at San Diego.
Angie Herrera had 10 kills and nine digs and Laura Szymanski had 16 digs and four blocks for Northridge.
