Smoking Ban
The highly touted enforcement of the 18-month-old smoking ban in bars is a smoke screen. Try reporting a bar for violation--you must provide the name of the owner of the establishment. Having just ingested the smoke from two smokers sitting next to us at lunch and searched high and low for the posted registration that would show the owner’s name, I am more than frustrated. This particular pub was mentioned in print and on the radio for having a smoke-free environment--free advertising for a place that has never abided by the law.
For those who complain about the “ban” and the rights of smokers and bar/restaurant owners, you might consider trying to take steps to change the law instead of ignoring and defying it.
