The city’s 43 employees, who have been working without a labor agreement for the past month, might get final approval of their new contract from the City Council on Tuesday. The employees voted Thursday to accept the agreement, which includes higher wages and better retirement benefits, said Larry Lykins, spokesman for the Orange County Employee Assn. The contract was not complete by the July 1 deadline because the process took longer than expected. The City Council endorsed the contract in closed session Thursday night but must formally approve it at Tuesday’s meeting, said Assistant City Manager David Gruchow.
