Former Planning Commissioner Eric James told the City Council last week that he will file a complaint with the Fair Political Practices Commission against current Commissioners Jeffrey Segall and James Lacy. James alleges that the commissioners violated the Brown Act, the state’s open meeting law, by altering the minutes of a past meeting and prohibiting public criticism. The City Council recently approved amended Planning Commission minutes, after Segall claimed that one of his votes had been misrecorded.
