The public is invited tonight to help consultants and city planners arrive at a specific revitalization plan for the west side. The meeting will round out a year of efforts by consultants EIP Associates to gather community input on how to improve the area.
Some of the alternatives mentioned in the plans included creating a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood shopping area along a three-block commercial core on 19th Street at Placentia Avenue, which could include a mix of residences above stores, and changing the land use of the area along Placentia Avenue north of 19th Street to either high-tech industrial or to residential zoning.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave.
