Huntington Beach City School District officials want the community to determine whether three closed school sites will be needed in the future. The district is accepting applications for a committee that will consist of at least seven and no more than 11 community members to review the Burke, Gisler and LeBard school sites and to make a recommendation to the school board. The advisory committee will be appointed in September. Committee applications are available at the district office at 20451 Craimer Lane, Huntington Beach. The deadline is Aug. 20.
