Residents who are against a proposed Alzheimer’s home in a residential neighborhood have one more chance to convince city officials that the project is a bad idea.
Residents were told an Alzheimer’s home would not be built if they could find a developer who would purchase the property and build homes on it, according to statements Mayor John Gullixson made at the July 20 council meeting. Mark Abramowitz, who lives in the neighborhood, said he and other residents have contacted representatives of Mission Viejo-based Woodbridge Developments, who are interested in building six homes on the 2.6-acre lot at the corner of Yorba Linda Boulevard and Summit Drive. But that would be too expensive, said Gordon Thomson, the real estate agent in charge of the property. The land is zoned for four homes.
