Six small businesses will be recognized for outstanding achievement at the second Los Angeles Times Small Business Strategies Conference on Sept. 24-25.
Bank of America, a conference sponsor, has created an entrepreneurial awards contest in which one of the six will receive a $10,000 cash prize. Winners will be honored at the Times event.
A dozen small-business leaders and activists will judge the entrants and pick the winners.
Companies seeking to enter must be at least 3 years old, headquartered in Los Angeles County, profitable for the last two years and have annual gross sales of less than $10 million. Entry categories are enterprise, innovation and community service, with separate entries for companies earning $2 million or less and those earning from $2 million to $10 million.
Deadline to apply is Aug. 13. For more information, call (213) 228-3250 or go to https://www.bankamerica.com/business/la_sm_biz_awards.html.
More than 10,000 small-business owners are expected to attend the conference at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year’s focus is on expanding a business. Many instructional and interactive workshops are scheduled.
Registration begins Aug. 4. For more information, call (800) 350-3211 or visit http://pyxis.nohib.com./sbsc.
