Reventon Super Estrella is a sort of Latin version of the recent Wango Tango concert, a hit-happy reminder that the “pop” in pop music stands for “popular.” Partaking in the parade are Fey, Nek, MDO, Elvis Crespo, Mikel Erentxun, Javier, Chris Perez Band, Proyecto Uno, Litzy and El Gran Silencio.

Returning to the podium of the Pasadena Pops Orchestra, Lucas Richman leads “Broadway and Beyond,” featuring music by, among others, Sullivan, Porter, Sondheim, Rodgers, Puccini and L. Bernstein. Vocal soloists are Deborah Mayhan, Beth Crosby, Gabriel Reoyo-Pazos and Jeff Austin.

noon: Family

A four-acre Camarillo corn field has been turned into a giant maze of pathways called the Amazing Maize Maze. The journey through the maze, which usually takes one to two hours, includes interactive games along the way. The field also includes such features as music, bridges and a courtyard. The maze can be experienced as a problem-solving challenge or as a nature walk.

Irwindale Speedway will no longer offer Friday night events, with a goal of making its Saturday evening races--dubbed “Super Saturdays”--more competitive and action-packed. This Saturday’s event will feature four racing divisions: Sprint Cars, USAC TQ Midgets, NASCAR Late Models Twin ‘30s and CAM 360 Super Modifieds. The current season concludes Nov. 25 with a special Thanksgiving race, the annual “Turkey Night Grand Prix” for United States Auto Club Midget Cars.

“A Night in Old Vienna” describes the program of music by J. Strauss, Mozart, Kreisler, Lehar and Sieczynsky to be played by the Pacific Symphony and conducted by Houston Grand Opera music director Patrick Summers. Soprano soloist is Robin Follman; Judith Ingolfsson is the solo violinist. It’s part of the orchestra’s summer series at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, where picnicking is allowed and de rigueur. (Don’t forget the Vienna sausage.)

Ready for a Battle of Swing? How about a Peanut Brittle Brigade? That’s just two highlights from “To Duke With Love--A Celebration of the Music of Duke Ellington,” created by the locally based JazzAntiqua Dance and Music Ensemble to honor the Ducal centenary. Company music director Marcus Shelby oversees a slate of Ellington standards, with co-director Pat Taylor supplying choreography to the tone poem “Dusk” and the piano solo from “The Queen’s Suite,” among other pieces. Finally, guest Chester Whitmore brings his hot Opus 1 Jazz Orchestra and his Lindy Hopping Black Ballet Jazz dancers to the party. ‘Cause it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing. . . .
