ARV Assisted Living Inc.: The Costa Mesa operator of assisted-living communities said it lost $15.7 million, or 99 cents a share, for the second quarter, which included a charge of $5.6 million related to a court decision against the company and other charges of $7.7 million. For the second quarter last year, ARV lost $4.4 million, or 28 cents a share, which included $2.5 million for legal and investment banking advisory fees and expenses related to a management reorganization. Revenue increased 11% to $34.3 million.
