‘Ooze’ Forum to Focus on Church’s Transition
- Share via
Church leaders of all denominations and traditions are invited to explore spirituality in the new millennium at a forum called “The Ooze Gathering: Church in Transition.”
The event runs Aug. 16-18 at the Doubletree Hotel, 100 The City Drive, Orange.
Topics include: “Culture: From Modern to Postmodern,” “Worship: From Understanding to Experience” and “Pastors: From Competition to Communities.”
“The church has a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of our culture, but we can’t meet those needs in the same fashion as we did in the 1950s,” said event organizer and Ooze co-founder David Trotter.
The Ooze is so called based on the belief that new churches and traditions are popping up--or “oozing”--throughout the world.
“Our world is changing,” Trotter said, “and [spiritual leaders] need to be able to address that.”
