Council members on Tuesday are expected to approve an application for federal grant money to improve the city’s transportation easements. The Community Development Department is asking the council for permission to participate in the federal government’s transportation enhancement program; the department aims to receive $500,000 in funds to build new sidewalks along Beach Boulevard, improve signs along Katella Avenue and enhance medians across the city, development services director Mark Lloyd said. The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in Chambers, 7800 Katella Ave.
