Take It All Off and Keep It Under Wraps

Remember the scene in “Superman” the movie where Clark Kent couldn’t find a phone booth to change in? Well, now there’s help.
A Modesto company called Creative Designs has introduced Change-a-Robe, a patented terry-cloth robe that lets users dress and undress any time, anywhere, without violating indecent exposure laws.
There’s even a wheelchair version--Handi-Robe--that can be put on without having to stand up.
According to inventor Barbara Arnold, the roomy royal-blue robes are used by the cast of “Baywatch” for seaside wardrobe changes. Other customers include surfers, hikers, swimmers, boaters and modeling agencies. The robes might also be ideal for homeless people, if not for the $65 price tag.
“It’s everything in one,” Arnold says. “You can change under it, dry off with it, wear it to stay warm and lay on it like a blanket.”
The hooded robes also feature a deep scoop-neck opening so you can look inside while changing, a large pouch for storing clothes and two outside pockets. Toss in a cell phone, and Superman will feel right at home.
