* Orientation for Ventura College’s JTPA-funded Customer Service Training Academy will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at 71 Day Road, Annex 4. Applicants must meet Title IIa, IIc or III criteria and should bring a picture identification and Social Security card.

* “Beyond Time Management,” a seminar sponsored by Ventura Four Points Hotel Sheraton, will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 17 at 1050 Schooner Drive, Ventura. Margi Mainquist of Mainquist Consulting will discuss priority management, planning and scheduling and dealing with time traps--such as paperwork, telephone calls and meetings.

* The Ventura Chamber of Commerce will hold a general membership luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at Wedgewood Banquet Center, 5880 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura. Ventura Police Chief Mike Tracy will discuss “Partnerships with PAL,” the Police Activities League.
