A 59-year-old Huntington Beach man was killed Monday when he apparently lost control of a 1988 Nissan pickup truck on the southbound San Gabriel River Freeway. The truck smashed into the center divider and came to rest in the carpool lane, a Highway Patrol officer said.
The accident occurred just south of Rosecrans Avenue about 10:45 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Karen Faciane said.
Paramedics attempted to revive the motorist, who was pronounced dead at a hospital, she said.
