Business owners are complaining that they were accidentally left out of the last West Side revitalization community workshop. In what the city describes as a “simple oversight,” some 1,600 business and industry owners did not receive newsletters informing them of the meeting, held last Tuesday.
“I was furious,” said Howard House, who owns a sign business on Whittier Avenue. “I specifically wanted to go to this meeting to voice my opinion and concerns and I feel I’ve been excluded.”
House said what adds insult to injury is that he and others had asked in April after missing other public workshops to be placed on a mailing list so they would be informed of future meetings.
The meeting Tuesday was the final public workshop before consultant EIP Associates submits a draft specific plan based on their research and community input to the City Council for its consideration.
