A 36-year-old woman found lying in the street by a passing motorist Thursday told authorities she had been struck by a hit-and-run driver.
Sandra DeAvila of Winnetka said she was hit at 9 a.m. by a gray compact car in the 19900 block of Chase Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
DeAvila suffered a broken leg and was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, city Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said. She was listed in good condition late Thursday.
There were no witnesses to the accident and no skid marks or debris at the scene, police said.
Valley Traffic Division detectives are asking anyone with information on the accident to call (818) 756-8391.
