Don’t Forget the Train

Your articles commonly include transportation suggestions. I would like to suggest that the Amtrak train schedule be checked. For instance, you recently printed an article on Santa Fe (“Beyond the Santa Fe Scene,” July 25). Amtrak has a wonderful train, the Southwest Chief, that departs daily at 7:15 p.m. from Union Station and arrives at Lamy, N.M. (about 20 minutes from Santa Fe) the next day. The trip offers beautiful scenery and a unique way to travel along a historical route and avoid the stress of LAX.
How one travels to and from a destination is as important as the destination itself.
