Audible Content on Streaming Media

Audible Inc., which delivers audio versions of books and newspapers online, signed agreements that would make its content available through “streaming media” from Microsoft and RealNetworks. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. The agreements would make Audible’s content available to Microsoft’s 40 million Windows Media Player users and RealNetworks’ 72 million RealPlayer users. Shares of Wayne, N.J.-based Audible, which went public at $9 a share last month, rose $3.19 to close at $13.88 on Nasdaq. Microsoft has about a 9.6% stake in Audible.
