* Re “U.S. May Drop Trade Ban for N. Korea Deal,” Aug. 13: Who are the winners if President Clinton drops the trade embargo against North Korea in exchange for it not testing its newest and longest-range missile? Obviously North Koreans win. Once again they will have held the world hostage and the world will have blinked. Also, since they have proved time and again that their word means absolutely nothing, we may as well have agreed to relaxing the sanctions only if they do test the missile.
The other winner? Corporate America, which has shown time and again that, given a choice between profit or the refusal to deal with an altogether morally repugnant regime, the bottom line rules.
