LaRouche Campaign Seeks Funds for 2000

The campaign of Democratic candidate Lyndon LaRouche, who has run for president six times previously, including once while in prison, filed papers with the Federal Election Commission in Washington asking for federal matching funds for the 2000 presidential election. The LaRouche campaign says it has surpassed the $5,000-per-state requirement to receive matching funds. LaRouche, who is in Germany recovering from heart surgery, was imprisoned for five years for tax fraud and conspiracy.
