The City Council and the Orange County Fire Authority recently recognized Ron Walde, a city employee, for his valor during the fatal car accident June 30 at Prospect Avenue and Theodora Drive. Walde, who works for the Public Works Department, used a nearby residence’s garden hose to contain the fire until emergency crews arrived at the scene.
