A worker was killed Wednesday afternoon when a pickup truck struck him as he was collecting traffic cones on a street, officials said.
The name of the victim, who worked for a private company, was not immediately released.
The accident happened on Vanowen Street about 3:30 p.m., said Officer Bob Crupi of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Crupi said the Valley Traffic Division was investigating the circumstances of the accident, but said it was not a hit-and-run.
