Warner to Offer Songs Free on Amazon.com

Warner Music Group announced a partnership with Amazon.com and two Internet audio companies that will make songs by 12 artists free on the Web. Visitors to Amazon.com’s music site will be able to download songs using players by Liquid Audio and RealNetworks. Shares of Time Warner fell 31 cents Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange to $62.44, and Amazon fell $4.31 on Nasdaq to close at $128.56. Also on Nasdaq, Liquid Audio lost $1.81 to $29.88, and RealNetworks fell 44 cents to $85.50.(Karen Kaplan)
