Re “Turkey Turns Down Offer of Armenian Aid,” Aug. 24: Turkey’s true colors come shining through. As an Armenian I was very proud to see that Armenia offered assistance to Turkey. This offer was amazing for several reasons. Not only because of Turkey’s refusal to recognize the genocide. Not only because Turkey and Azerbaijan have formed a blockade around Armenia in an attempt to cripple Armenia’s economy. But because of the economic disparities between Turkey and Armenia. While Turkey’s economy is not great, it is certainly a much wealthier country than Armenia.

And as a side note, I hope the Clinton administration takes notice of this offer by Armenia. The administration is always on the side of Turkey and Azerbaijan, maintaining that Armenia is the one resistant to diplomacy.
