* LONG BEACH STATE (2-1) vs. ST. JOSEPH’S OF PENNSYLVANIA (1-1) at Syracuse, N.Y., 3 p.m. PST, KPLS (830)--This weekend will be a homecoming for 49er Coach Wayne Morgan and star player Ramel Lloyd. Morgan was a 12-year assistant under Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim and Lloyd played for Boeheim as a freshman three years ago. But in the first round of the Carrier Classic, Long Beach State has to worry about St. Joseph’s, a team that, like the 49ers, has five returning starters from last season. Although Lloyd is returning to Syracuse for the first time as a 49er, he is the team’s biggest question mark. After not playing in his team’s home opener 10 days ago because of sore knees, he played only 13 minutes Sunday. Syracuse (4-0) plays Richmond (1-1) at 5 p.m. in the other first-round game.
