* Re “A Living Wage?” Ventura County Perspective, Nov. 28.
The idea of a living wage is admirable. I moved to Ventura because I could eke out a living here. I have slowly been climbing up the pay scale as I have remained with the same employer and taken courses to keep current.
Wouldn’t it be a slap in the face to increase the minimum wage for county contractors to a “living wage” if I don’t get an increase? Besides, wouldn’t those companies pass their cost increase on to me, the consumer?
