A drunk-driving checkpoint set up by Orange County sheriff’s deputies Saturday night resulted in six arrests, department officials said. Deputies stopped about 30 vehicles between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Lake Forest Drive at Muirlands Boulevard. One suspect who was arrested Saturday with three children in his car had outstanding warrants in two other drunk driving cases, Lake Forest Deputy Fred Furey said. “The overwhelming majority [of the vehicles stopped] had had someone drinking, but a designated driver was used, which we really appreciate,” Furey said. The six suspects were taken to Orange County Jail and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence.
