* Ticketmaster Group Inc. said it named Larry Jacobson, president of Fox Television Network, as president and chief operating officer, effective Jan. 10. Jacobson will oversee day-to-day operations at Ticketmaster, which is owned by USA Networks Inc.
* Foundations formed by Microsoft Corp. Chairman Bill Gates and cellular phone pioneer Craig McCaw and their wives will contribute a total $30 million to foundations formed by former South African President Nelson Mandela and his wife, Graca Machel, to improve health care worldwide.
