Local Churches Launching Their Christmas Program Season

Orange County churches will get into the Christmas spirit in a big way beginning this week, with concerts, special services and other events planned to mark the 1,999th anniversary of Christ’s birth.

Church events--Two church events were incorrectly described in Saturday’s O.C. Religion page. “A Manger Filled With Love” will be performed tonight at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5402 Heil Ave., Huntington Beach. The Rev. Peggy Price will be speaking on “The Gift of Wonder” at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. today at the Church of Religious Science, 7641 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach.
* The Chancel Choir, congregation, readers and instrumentalists at Morningside Presbyterian Church will present the annual Lessons and Carols service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. * South Shores Church will present a Christmas concert at 6 p.m. this evening at 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Performers include a 70-member choir, full orchestra and Handbell Ensemble. * Tustin Presbyterian Church will present Afternoon Advent and Las Posadas from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature arts, crafts, dinner and the procession of Las Posadas.
