7 Hurt in Collision on State Highway

A four-vehicle crash on California 33 near Oak View injured seven people, including one seriously, and briefly closed the highway Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection with Creek Road.
The seriously injured woman, whose name was not released, suffered head and neck injuries and was transported by helicopter to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, authorities said.
She was in a Volkswagen that witnesses said collided with a sport-utility vehicle, causing a chain-reaction. The other victims were taken by ambulance to area hospitals, where they were treated, authorities said.
One lane was reopened shortly after the crash when a California Highway Patrol officer used a patrol car to push the wrecked Volkswagen to the side of the road.
