Dorsey 80, Canoga Park 77--Donte Witherspoon had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Jammie Harris had 18 points and 10 rebounds but Canoga Park lost in overtime in a nonleague game at Canoga Park.
Jonathon Townsend (10 points) missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that could have sent the game into a second overtime. The Hunters (6-6) played without Cecil Brown, who injured his left knee Wednesday and will be out two weeks. Harris fouled out with two minutes to go in regulation.
Taft 74, Carson 53--Steve Smith scored 17 points and the Toreadors (6-1) shot 60% in a nonleague game at Carson.
Gregg Guenther had 10 rebounds for Taft, which led, 45-17, at halftime.
Beverly Hills 73, Hueneme 66--Anthony Camper scored 19 points for the Vikings (4-3), who couldn’t recover from a 23-4 first-quarter deficit in a second-round game of the Oak Park tournament.
Bell-Jeff 77, Van Nuys 49--Carlos Arroyo had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Casey Markovic had 15 points for the Guards (5-1), who took a 34-2 advantage in the first 10 minutes of a Bell-Jeff tournament game.
Cleveland 71, Locke 59--Anthony Davis scored 22 points with 10 rebounds and the No. 8 Cavaliers (8-3) survived 34 turnovers in a nonleague game at Cleveland.
Grant Pledger had eight assists and Quenton Harvey had 15 points for Cleveland.
Montclair Prep 84, Palmdale 40--Josiah Johnson scored 32 points with 13 rebounds and Will Sheslow had 18 points with seven assists in a nonleague victory for the host Mounties (5-1).
GIRLS
Royal 66, Oak Park 34--Kristen Galbreath scored 19 points and Jamie Blanck added 10 points and eight steals for the No. 7 Highlanders (5-2) in a first-round victory at the Santa Paula tournament.
Novey Woodard-Parker had 15 points and nine assists for Royal.
Burroughs 63, Hoover 45--Gracie Coronado had 24 points and eight rebounds, and Shaina Zaidi added 22 points and six assists for the Indians (6-2) in pool play of the Burroughs tournament.
Agoura 55, North Hollywood 41--Jennifer Lacy of Agoura scored 31 points in the first round of pool play at the Burroughs tournament.
Alemany 68, Westlake 55--Amy Lowe helped Alemany pull away to a nonleague victory with three consecutive steals and breakaway layups while the Indians held a 46-42 edge in the fourth quarter.
Lowe finished with 11 points and five steals. Kate Beckler led the Indians (5-1) with 15 points, and Alma Sandoval added 11 points.
Crescenta Valley 53, Canyon 49--Sinnamonn Garrett made five free throws in the fourth quarter and scored 20 points to help Crescenta Valley (6-1) hold off Canyon in a nonleague game at Canyon.
