Expect Crush of Holiday Travelers

With holiday travelers besieging airports, getting from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv may be easier than getting from the Ventura Freeway to LAX.
Airport officials advise travelers to plan early and take public transportation.
The FlyAway bus service is already seeing a glut of commuters going from Van Nuys Airport to Los Angeles International Airport. For a $6 round-trip fare and $1 a day for parking, vacationers can avoid having to drive congested freeways before their flights.
“The terminal is a very popular location during the holiday period,” said Jens O. Rivera, Van Nuys Airport manager. “The parking lot at the FlyAway could fill to capacity as early as this Wednesday.”
To save additional time, Rivera said, arrange to be dropped off at the terminal and leave early to allow time for traffic delays and baggage check-in.
The Van Nuys FlyAway terminal is at 7610 Woodley Ave. at Saticoy Street. Call (818) 994-5554 for more information.
Some travelers flying out of Burbank Airport have been delayed looking for parking spaces, according to airport operations.
Calling ahead to (818) 840-8838 can trim wandering time.
