49ers Are 32 of 33 in One Half

Long Beach State played a near perfect second half and set a school record for points in routing Cal State Monterey Bay, 127-57, Wednesday night before an announced crowd of 1,477 at the Pyramid.

The 49ers made their first 31 field-goal attempts in the second half until D’Cean Bryant missed a 20-footer with 59 seconds to play. For the game Long Beach shot 80% from the field, an NCAA-record 97% (32 of 33) in the second half.

Senior center Mate Milisa made all 13 field goals he tried and scored 28 points in leading the 49ers (6-3) to their fourth consecutive win. The 49ers, who had six players in double figures, also set school records for points in a half (74), field goals made (56) and margin of victory. All 10 49ers who played scored at least three points.

The Otters are a NAIA Division II team and their tallest player is 6-foot-4 senior forward Noah Winters.
