Holiday Closures

Following are closures for today, Christmas Eve, and Saturday, Christmas Day.
Mail: Post offices are open and mail will be delivered today. On Saturday, all post offices are closed and no mail will be delivered.
Banks: Many banks and savings and loan institutes are open today, but on Saturday all are closed.
Transportation: MTA buses, subway and light-rail lines will follow regular schedules today. On Saturday, buses and trains will follow a Sunday schedule. Free bus rides are offered from 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Saturday for all lines. Free subway and light-rail rides are offered from 9-11 p.m. tonight. Full fares are in effect for subway and light-rail lines Saturday. On Sunday, there will be reduced services for buses and trains. All Metrolink train lines will operate with limited service today; on Saturday, Metrolink trains are closed.
Trash: City trash collection agencies will maintain regular pickup schedules.
Courts: All courts are open today, but on Saturday are closed.
Schools: Most public schools in Los Angeles County----including schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District----are closed until Jan. 3.
Government: All federal, state, county and municipal offices are open today. On Saturday, all federal, state, county and municipal offices----except those providing emergency services----are closed.
Libraries: County libraries are closed until Monday. Operating hours at individual cities’ libraries will vary.
