A Superior Court judge ruled Thursday that a ballot measure asking citizens to decide on the location of City Hall can go before the voters without revisions.
Resident Larry Gilbert filed a motion Dec. 15 that asked Judge H. Warren Siegel to reduce the number of options on the city-sponsored ballot from three to one. The revised measure would have simply determined if residents want to build a new City Hall instead of leasing space.
Brad Morton, an attorney and a member of the Committee for Integrity in Government, joined Gilbert in filing the motion. It asked that the measure more closely fit the requirements of a city code that requires an advisory vote before a new City Hall can be built. The ballot must include the location, cost and size of the project.
