The Alliance for Spiritual Community, a local interfaith group, will conduct a New Year’s Day program titled “Welcoming Peace 2000” from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 30121 Niguel Road.
The event will include prayer sessions by community members who are Buddhists, Baha’is, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hindus and Native Americans. People also are invited to participate in a potluck lunch at noon.
“We just thought the focusing on peace will be a good way for the community to greet the new year,” organizer Kay Lindahl said. Information: (949) 661-3087.
