Donations Sought for Library Books
A local women’s group has joined forces with a national organization in soliciting donations to replace library books. The efforts on the local level will benefit libraries in the Pleasant Valley School District.
The Camarillo Women’s Club is working with Washington, D. C.-based General Federation of Women’s Clubs on a project called Libraries 2000 to introduce or replace 2,000 books in libraries throughout the country.
Donations will be used to replenish shelves in school libraries. The goal is to purchase hard-bound classics.
District representative Sherri Kerman said any donation would be appreciated. She said those making donations of $20 or more will be eligible to have their names placed in the front of the book as its donor.
For information on the program, call 388-5349. Donations can be sent to Kerman’s attention at Pleasant Valley School District Library Donations, 600 Temple Ave., Camarillo 93010.
