LATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: Helping to broker a landmark deal with the government of Hong Kong to build a $2.9-billion theme park there, as Disney’s first attraction in China. Over the past year, he has flown to Hong Kong 16 times to negotiate with government officials on zoning and environmental aspects of the theme park, which is scheduled to open in 2005.
GOALS FOR 2000: To put the finishing touches on the Hong Kong deal and push ahead with plans to build a major new creative campus in Glendale for Imagineering. The new office project, announced in September, would be built on the 113-acre site of the former Grand Central Air Terminal in Glendale and would include dozens of buildings, sound stages and a high-tech business center. He hopes to finalize environmental approvals and development agreements with Glendale officials by the end of 2000 and break ground on the new complex by 2004.
