Kali Manley Case
Apologies are due to the community of Ojai--the hundreds of people who turned out over the Christmas holiday to volunteer, mounted patrol units, search and rescue teams, the Ventura County Sheriffs’s Department and, most of all, the family of Kali Manley.
For five days Louis Samonsky refused to let his client tell authorities the location of a missing 14-year-old’s body. He let a physically and emotionally exhausting search go on for days, even when his client insisted on cooperating.
Last week’s search could have been largely avoided had Samonsky listened to his client’s plea to end the agony and to Dist. Atty. Michael Bradbury.
